If You Are Not A Nazarene You Are Not Excused By God!

That’s right. If you are not a Nazarene God will hold you accountable.

If you do not do Nazarene things

and believe Nazarene stuff

and talk Nazarene talk

and defend Nazarene traditions

and sing Nazarene songs

and attend Nazarene churches

than look out because God will not let you off the hook.

What if I said this to you? What if I established a facebook page devoted to Nazarene’s, and everyone who joined wallowed in the joys of being Nazarene and patted ourselves on our Nazarene backs and bolstered our Nazarene doctrines and celebrated our Nazarene traditions and posted Nazarene YouTube videos making fun of non-Nazarene’s?

Is this the kind of community you would jump into? Because I see this by Catholics and Calvinists, Orthodox and Lutherans, Anglicans and Pentecostals and – in all probability it must exist somewhere – Nazarenes too. But I just don’t understand it. Why are Christians so exclusive that we exclude each other?

P.S. I’m a Nazarene, and if you are in Christ, than I do believe you are a Christian.

I am lucky enough to live in a community that has very open Churches, it is a mystery to me the unity that exists here in Tillamook, Oregon but a good mystery! I go to an Assemblies of God Church but we help fund both Nazarene and Southern Baptist (strict cessationist Church) ministries. It is really cool how open the Church community is in this town, and a very stark contrast to the towns community.

So are Nazarenes basically Methodists that haven’t sold out? I know that we’re related to one another in the Wesleyan tree.
